AKC Dachshunds : Oregon - Located Breeders
This is the page where you can find news about litters. We post information on the sires and dams, along with pictures so you can see who is who. The dates given for expected date to whelp are accurate. Dogs have a 63 day pregnancy from the date of the breeding. When one of our females is in heat, we try to post that information along with the sire that is chosen and her approximate whelp date. The accurate whelp date is not known until after the breeding. If the sire is an established stud, we can sometimes give a pretty close idea as to what colors and/or coats we expect in the litter. The sexes of the puppies are always wildcards. Coats and colors can surprise you as well, since any gene can come up at about anytime. But, usually we have a pretty good idea of what is expected.
Puppies are ready for homes between 6 and 8 weeks of age. The mother usually has the pups completely weaned by 5 weeks of age, and the puppies get good at solid food around 6 weeks. Some puppies do take a little longer.

| Moxie is a longhair red piebald. She will be breeding Spring 2008. The planned stud for this breeding will be J.P. Her last litter arrived March 25, 2006. All of them have since gone home, but pictures of her puppies are posted here. Email or call us with any questions. |

| Meet playful Maggie! Maggie is a smooth red piebald. She was born March 14, 2005. Maggie will breed to Barney for her first litter, which we expect Spring 2008. |

| Fancee is our gorgeous little red longhair. She will no longer be breeding. She was spayed in December of 2006. |

| Punkin is a smooth red. She has a medium frame, weighing about 12 lbs. Punkin was spayed February 2007. |

| Custer is our busiest stud! He is a gorgeous smooth red, weighing in at 9 lbs. and conforms to AKC standards very nicely. Custer has championship bloodlines and the sweetest disposition, making him an excellent sire for almost any dam. Custer carries chocolate, piebald and longhair genes, and is available for stud service. |

| Meet Poppy! Poppy is a smooth chocolate and tan dapple. She was born April 6, 2005. We expect that she will be an excellent addition to our breeding program. Poppy will be breeding with Custer for first litter sometime in 2008 See more pics of all of our dams here. |

| Delilah a.k.a. "Little Bit" |

| Delilah is a smooth black and tan. She is one of our smallest females, very petite! She will no longer be breeding. She was also spayed February 2007. |

| Tanzy is a smooth black and tan dapple. Her right eye is partially blue, which comes from the dapple gene. Tanzy will breed again late in 2008. |
